What is Nestopia?
Nestopia is a new creative space in the heart of Nicosia that combines a physical venue with a digital presence. Its mission is to support and showcase the local artistic community, encourage collaboration among creators from different disciplines, and bring the public closer to the contemporary art of Cyprus.
Located at 77Z Aischylou Street in Old Nicosia, Nestopia will host monthly artist showcases, seminars, and workshops. Its digital platform will offer continuous updates on the arts and culture scene, interviews and artist spotlights, as well as open calls for applications and funding opportunities from other organizations.
The Opening Event
Nestopia officially opens its doors on Sunday, 2 November, from 18:00 to 23:00, with a welcoming event for artists and art lovers. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the space, learn about upcoming activities, meet creators and artists, and enjoy music and drinks from 7 Kleidia Kafeneio in a relaxed atmosphere.The venue will also feature an introductory exhibition of the first featured artists, along with a small corner offering products by Nestopia and collaborating artists for those who wish to support their work.
Creative Traces Walk
On the same evening, from 18:00 to 20:00, the Creative Traces will take place: an interactive experience of exploration and collaboration in the heart of Old Nicosia. Groups of artists from different fields will follow a curated route through a series of city landmarks that highlight creative and diverse ways of living and working in the old town.
Along the way, participants will take on playful challenges, collaborate through various creative practices, and record their discoveries. The experience will conclude back at Nestopia, where they will share their creative impressions as part of the evening’s celebration — an homage to artistic collaboration inspired by the city’s creative core.
Online registration for participation will open soon via Google Form, and places will be limited.
