Christodoulos Christodoulou

Christodoulos Christodoulou is a PhD Research Fellow at the Department of Information Systems, University of Agder. His research explores the use of generative AI tools in professional design practice, with a particular interest in how these technologies reshape design expertise, decision-making, creativity, and the role of the designer. His broader academic interests include responsible digitalisation, human–AI collaboration, design research, participatory methods, and the social implications of emerging technologies.

Before joining the University of Agder, Christodoulos completed a Master’s degree in Product Design – Design in Complexity at OsloMet. His master’s thesis examined how graphic design and social media communication can support immigrants in Norway in exercising their right to vote, reflecting his interest in inclusive and socially engaged design. This work has since been developed into research on responsible social media use, civic engagement, and immigrant participation.

Christodoulos also holds a BA in Graphic and Advertising Design from Frederick University Cyprus and a Certificate in Web Design from Alexander College Cyprus. He has several years of professional experience in graphic design, advertising, visual communication, UI/UX, and socially oriented design projects. Alongside his design practice, he has worked as a research assistant on the European-funded Craft Hub project at OsloMet, where he contributed to research communication, quality assurance, and digital publication work.

Across his academic and professional work, Christodoulos is interested in how design and technology can be used responsibly to support more inclusive, reflective, and socially meaningful practices.
