Lara Alphas

Lara Alphas is a designer and illustrator currently living and working in Nicosia. She is inspired by the relationship between audience and public space, and how design can contribute towards enhancing accessibility within art and culture. Using a multidisciplinary approach to her work, she focuses on introducing audiences to historical and cultural narratives through utilising diverse collaborations between makers and researchers. 

Some of her projects include the illustration of Miranda Hoplaros’graphic novel the Sign Maker” the design of temporary exhibitions for the Department of Antiquities – “anThrOPOS: Faces of Cyprus through the ages”, “The Body: lived experiences in ancient Cyprus”, “Picasso at the Cyprus Museum: works in clay”, as well as the design of childrens educational programs, such as Κάτι Αρχαίο ψήνεται” (Cyprus Food Virtual Museum & Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation) and “Στο Μουσείο με την οικογένειά μου” (Cyprus Museum). Today she is the founder of Elston Alphas LTD, a creative studio, which focuses on collaborations between designers and researchers.
