Christina Olympiou

I am a traditionally trained graphic designer that has also organically evolved into a visual designer through my work and experience in many facets of design. I hold a BA (HONS) degree in Graphic Design from the University of the West of England (Bristol) and have been a practicing designer since 2002. During my early practice as a Graphic Designer, I have worked for two of the largest advertising agencies in Cyprus and have collaborated with a variety of organisations and design studios as an independent designer. Over the last decade, my professional journey has revolved around designing for digital products, with a primary emphasis on the user’s experience in relation to functionality and usability. An ongoing journey into the application and understanding of user-centered design principles, translating complex ideas into intuitive interfaces and ensuring balance between aesthetics and functionality. I enjoy being actively involved in creative thinking, working solo and within teams, to solve creative problems with design solutions.

I am a proud founding member of the Cyprus Association of Graphic Designers and Illustrators (CAGDI), the official body of the aforementioned professionals in Cyprus. I served as the 2nd president of the board, for the period of 2019-2021, working tirelessly for the acknowledgement of the professions of Graphic Designers and Illustrators, the improvement of the working conditions both in the public and private sector, as well as bringing together all creatives in forming a design community.

I am also the most disoriented person on earth. If I am ever late, then I am probably lost…
